Visit Baton Rouge would welcome back Bayou Country Superfest

Visit Baton Rouge will still be open for Bayou Country Superfest and will return to Baton Rouge, said President and CEO Paul Arrigo.

However, this is unlikely to happen without the parish city offering a significant financial incentive to the festival organizers.

The city and state have accumulated $ 900,000 for Bayou Country Superfest for the inaugural festival in Baton Rouge in 2010. For 2016, the last time it was held at Tiger Stadium before moving to New Orleans, the city and state incentives $ 600,000.

Earlier this week, LSU reports that they would also be willing to return the festival to Tiger Stadium. The festival was moved to New Orleans last year because the stadium was being renovated.

"Visibly, Visit Baton Rouge was very helpful in bringing the Bayou Country Superfest to Baton Rouge eight years ago, and we were disappointed when he left," says Arrigo.

Regarding the return on investment, Visit Baton Rouge felt that the festival brought millions of dollars to the city. Held during the Memorial Day weekend, a relatively slow vacation weekend for hoteliers and local restaurateurs, the festival helped fill hotel rooms and restaurant tables during the seven years he was here .

Some local restaurants estimated that sales were four times higher than a normal weekend, and LSU earned more than $ 2 million in festival profits between 2012 and 2014. During the same period, average fares were rooms during the weekend increased by 50% and revenue per room available increased by 200%.
